Bird not flapping

SAM BIRD stormed past nearly half the field on his way to a podium finish which left him top of the world standings.

The Brit romped from 10th on the grid to second place in a wild Rome E-Prix, won by DS Techeetah driver Jean-Eric Vergne.

Bird’s Jaguar teammate Mitch Evans took third to give the

British manufacturer the lead in the team championship.

“I really enjoyed that,” Bird said.
