Sing X-rated songs to dad, says Vernon
VERNON Kay stops his teenage daughter playing songs with X-rated lyrics by forcing her to sing the rude words to him.
The former Family Fortunes host said Phoebe, 16, then gives in and switches off her music.
Vernon, 46, who has two daughters with wife Tess Daly, 51, said: “I’m like, ‘Let’s just turn that off… now sing that to your dad’.
“She goes bright red and says ‘I can’t’.”
He told his Parenting Past The Pandemic podcast that swearing was banned by his Roman Catholic mum when he was growing up in the 80s.
He said: “I can’t imagine singing explicit lyrics to my parents in the front room – I’m not that brave.
“I still don’t swear in front of my parents.”
