RYAN CLAMPIN hit the winner as Colchester boosted their survival hopes.

Walsall took a 20th-minute lead via James Clarke, who turned in at the far post, but Colchester equalised in the 37th minute via Michael Folivi, who stabbed in after Frank Nouble’s effort had hit a post.

The hosts went ahead in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time when a Clampin volley flew in.
