Lights, cameras and a day of film action

- Running with terminal cancer By Kevin Webber justgiving.com/fundraising/kevin-webber8

I have been honoured to be the subject of a few documentaries since I started running with terminal cancer and it’s always humbling to think that I may inspire others to never give up.

This week there was an unusual twist though following an approach by Max who is a first year student reading Film Practice at London South Bank University.

Max together with Gus, George and Ben had somehow found out about me and wanted to make a documentary about me as their end of year assessment.

Meeting in a park I was so impressed with the professionalism of all of them. They all had different jobs to do and stuck to those very much in the same way I have experienced when being interviewed by the BBC.

It was so pleasing for me that they wanted to get everything just right from the perfect camera shot to the lighting and sound.

Max had the role of director and asked me some well thought out questions following some shots of me running in different locations at different angles.

I am sure that the finished product will be of great quality and hope that they get a good grade in return for their commitment. Unusually however it won’t be in the public domain as it is internal course work. Personally, that does not matter to me as I enjoyed my afternoon with them and in some small way I hope that I helped them progress in the career of their choice.

Like me, I hope that you too say yes to investing some time to help others achieve their dreams as that is a worthwhile way to spend a day, don’t you think?

Until next week

Kev
