MARK WARBURTON is keen to keep his loan Rangers after his in-form side ended the season with a flourish.

West Brom loanee Charlie Austin and Fulham loanee Stefan Johansen were both on target as QPR finished ninth, having looked set for a relegation scrap before the January transfer window.

For Luton, it was Leicester loanee Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who pulled them level before halftime, but Johansen restored Rangers’ lead, firing past Simon Sluga on the hour.

Late on, Albert Adomah (right) sealed a 15th league win of 2021 for QPR.

Hoops boss Warburton said: “It was a really pleasing end to the season. We are only two points off seventh.

“We knew we were in a tough position before

Christmas. The addition of the loan players and the way the squad have responded, they deserve enormous praise.

“With Stefan, Charlie, Sam and Jordy, we have been lucky in that they adapted to our style of play perfectly and they suited us perfectly. I hope we can keep them.”

Luton boss Nathan Jones said: “First half, we should have been out of sight; second half, we really did not get going.

“If you don’t take your chances, if you don’t put teams like QPR to bed, they will hurt you.”
