Shock as concrete bridge slips off lorry

THIS is the scene in a city centre after a huge 120-tonne section of bridge slipped off the back of a heavy-load vehicle.

It happened as contractors worked on the A64 bridge replacement scheme, which will see a new £31million flyover installed in the heart of the city.

The concrete section fell off and destroyed a truck as demolition works took place.

Leeds City Council has confirmed that there were no injuries and the site is set to reopen tomorrow.
