Starmer slips after chaos of reshuffle
LABOUR’S popularity has plunged since leader Keir Starmer’s Shadow Cabinet reshuffle shambles.
Sir Keir infuriated many of his MPs last week by bungling the sacking of deputy Angela Rayner.
And an Opinium poll found support for the party plunged six points to 31% while backing for the Tories rose by two to 44%.
Boris Johnson also has a 17-point lead over Sir Keir on who voters think would be the best Prime Minister.
One in three Labour backers want Sir Keir to quit, and nearly half think Manchester mayor Andy Burnham would make a good replacement.
Meanwhile respondents gave the Government’s handling of the pandemic the highest rating in a year.
