Jama fronts million meals bid for needy
MAYA Jama has launched a campaign to deliver one million meals to people who cannot afford to eat.
The BBC presenter, 26, who hosts the Glow Up make-up show, is fronting the Full Life food poverty campaign by Deliveroo.
The delivery firm is using its network of shops, delivery riders and restaurants to support communities across the UK.
Working with Pret A Manger, Co-op and Waitrose, Deliveroo will deliver the meals to food distributors, then on to charities and foodbanks.
Maya was raised by a single mum who struggled with multiple jobs.
She said: “Despite it being 2021, too many people are facing serious hardship and don’t have access to regular meals.”
