Scott named first lady of Footie Focus
ALEX Scott has been named as the first female host of Football Focus.
The former Arsenal and England defender will replace Dan Walker on the Saturday lunchtime show.
Scott, capped 140 times for the Lionesses, said: “When I was a kid, I would never have thought someone like me could be presenting Football Focus.
“For the BBC to trust me with this role and allow me to be my true, authentic self means a lot.”
The 36-year-old, who was on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, said she had received “amazing messages” of ” support.
Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker congratulated her adding: “You’ll be great.
Walker’s last show will be on May 22, with Scott taking the reins in August.
