Nun too easy for Midwife’s chilly Judy
CALL The Midwife star Judy Parfitt has revealed how Covid rules played havoc with filming.
Judy, 85, who plays Sister Monica Joan, said Covid restrictions meant the schedule had “gone out of the window”.
She said: “We filmed Christmas at the height of summer, and summer when it was freezing cold.
“And it really was cold. I was in two sets of long johns, a double nun’s outfit, a cardigan, Uggs and a furry coat.”
Judy faced another wardrobe problem. She said: “It is always hard to hear on set because of my wimple, but this year it was miserable.
“As soon as we finished filming everyone put their masks on and I couldn’t hear a b **** y word.”
