SHARKS’ YELLOW FEVER VOW

-

ALEX SANDERSON says play-offchasing Sale must cure their ‘yellow fever’ to thrive in the Premiership run-in.

In-form Sale survived losing three players to yellow cards in Friday night’s 24-20 win at Bath.

The Sharks’ final three regularseason games are all against fellow top-four sides as they chase a first Premiership title since 2006 – and they will be boosted by England star Manu Tuilagi’s return from injury.

Sale’s director of rugby Sanderson said: “We’ve won eight out of 10 games when we’ve got a yellow card, and the boys seem to step up whenever we get one.

“But I’m not happy about all the yellows. We’ll be addressing that.”

Tuilagi is expected to be back fit for the game against leaders Bristol on May 28, which will be followed by another home game against Harlequins, then a trip to Exeter on the final day.

Sanderson added: “We’ve not been to Twickenham [for the playoffs] for 15 years and we’re on the charge. We’ve now got a few big players coming back at the right time of the season.”
