Ek bid for Gunners

DANIEL EK claims he made an Arsenal takeover bid that was rejected by the under-fire Kroenkes.

Despite the Gunners insisting the Spotify founder was yet to make an official offer, Ek said in a statement last night: “It’s important to correct the record – this week an offer was made to both Josh Kroenke and their bankers that included fan ownership, representation at the board and a golden share for the supporters.

“They replied that they don’t need the money.

“I respect their decision, but I remain interested and available should that situation ever change.”

Fans have protested over owner Stan Kroenke’s attempt to join the Super League, intensified by their current woes on the pitch.
