AS is the bafflingly modern way, Sergio Aguero felt compelled to apologise for his penalty miss against Chelsea last weekend.

If there is one man who NEVER needs to say sorry to Manchester City fans – botched Panenka or no botched Panenka – it is Aguero.

But his performance in that match, and others, has led some people to nod wisely in agreement with City’s decision to let the 32-year-old leave the club.

To me, it is still baffling they did not move heaven and earth to keep him – his recent finish against Crystal Palace was the best I have seen this season.

Someone, probably Barcelona, is going to get a gem for a couple of years.
