Little Mix mums-to-be are just fab says star

Anne-Marie has praised Little Mix

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards for juggling their careers and pregnancy.

stars

The Voice coach hailed the former X Factor stars, along with Katy Perry, Cardi B and Halsey for challenging the myth you can’t be both a pop babe and be a mum.

Anne-Marie, who has just released new Little Mix collaboration Kiss My (Uh-Oh), tells me: “It’s been brilliant seeing the Little Mix girls killing it while pregnant.

“It has also been really inspiring seeing Katy Perry, Cardi B and Halsey all pregnant. I think they are all de-stigmatising the myth that young female pop stars can’t have children and still be relevant pop stars. I’ve loved seeing it.

“We just filmed the music video for

Kiss My and both the girls were still smashing it.

“If I had a bump like theirs I would be sitting on the sofa at home eating chocolate – but they were still brilliant.”

The collaboration is predicted to be a huge summer smash hit.

But 30-year-old Anne-Marie – whose new album Therapy is out now – admitted they’d originally hoped to record something back when Jesy Nelson was still in the group.

She says: “We talked about doing a single for so long. We’ve been sending songs to each other for ages, but none of them worked out until this one. It wouldn’t have been a single without the girls on it, but they’ve made it 10 times better.”

Due to still being good friends with all the girls, Anne-Marie wouldn’t comment on Jesy quitting the band.

But she volunteered to work on Jesy’s debut solo album. Anne-Marie, seen right in a colourful photoshoot, continues: “I have known all the girls for so long and love them all. It is such a hard situation for me to get into or comment on as it is a very personal thing for them.

“I love Jesy. She is a great person and she’s incredibly talented, so I would work with her if the project was right.”

Like Jesy, Anne-Marie has battled her own mental health problems.

She adds: “It got to the point where I just felt numb. My mind kept telling me I was rubbish, and I didn’t want to live like that any more.

“Getting therapy has completely changed my life. I still do it once a week on Zoom and I’ve finally learned how to love myself.”

Love that.

If I had bump like theirs I’d be eating choc.. they were brilliant
