Room with a phew!
London penthouse for rent at £281,667 a month
RENTING in London is notoriously expensive, but this penthouse takes it to a whole new level.
The Park Lane apartment is available to rent for £281,667 a month, or just under £3.4million a year.
Estate agents describe the interior-designed flat – believed to be the priciest in Britain – as a “stunning purpose-built fivebedroom penthouse with wraparound terraces”.
For your £65,000 a week, you will get 24-hour security and a concierge plus daily maid service. There is also an exclusive residents-only gym and underground valet parking.
The flat’s five “oversized” bedrooms are fully furnished and have marble en-suites.
All the other rooms – including a huge dining room, a luxury TV room and a sitting room complete with grand piano – have been “designed to the highest standards throughout”. The balconies also boast views of Hyde Park and central London.
The property also boasts “state-of-the-art home automation technology”, including climate control. The average
London rental costs around £1,580 a month, making the city the most expensive in the UK.
But the estate agents for the Grosvenor House Suites are on the lookout for exclusive clients.
They say they are targeting “a highly bespoke market”, and added: “We have accumulated a network of ultrahigh-net-worth individuals.”
Their blurb says the apartment is “just moments from the best of London”, convenient for
major airports and the financial district as well as “some of the world’s best shopping”. Local stores include Harrods and Selfridges.
Last year we told how an end terrace in Horden, Co Durham, was available to rent for just £170 per month.
That means, for the same price as the fancy London flat, you could rent over 1,650 houses in Horden a month.
