Banksy used team to help plant model

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

THE owner of a model village has revealed how Banksy used diversion tactics to leave a signed mini stable at his venue.

Frank Newsome said the caper began when a group of visitors refused to have their photograph taken as part of the ticket system.

He said one asked to see the model repair room and others flew a drone to divert staff while the graffiti artist got to work.

“They hid in plain sight, but apparently that’s what Banksy does,” he said.

The stable was left at Merrivale Model Village in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, on 6 August. It has been taken off site to protect it but will go on show.

The famed artist confirmed it was one of 10 artworks he left during his Great British Spraycation.
