Diver saves leg swimmer lost in lake
A £15,000 prosthetic leg lost in a lake by a woman while swimming has been recovered by a diver.
Josephine Bridges, 31, only realised the limb was gone when she got out of Cumbria’s Lake Windermere and tried to stand.
A plea on social media by her sister was passed to Angus Hosking, founder of Lake District Diving.
He said: “I think she was pretty stunned for me to have found it.”
Josephine, of Birmingham, lost her leg to bone cancer. She was wearing the specialist watersports limb when she jumped off the jetty at Miller Ground.
Angus added: “When she got to the shore she tried to stand up, looked down, and realised her prosthetic wasn’t attached to her any more.”
