Love Island favourites Liam and Millie are like BBC comedy’s couple
LOVE Island’s Liam Reardon and Millie Court can be a real-life Gavin and Stacey, says the hunk’s sister.
In the hit BBC comedy Gavin, from Billericay in Essex, falls in love with Stacey from Barry in South Wales.
And in the racy Channel 4 reality show, bricklayer Liam, 21, from South Wales appears to have fallen for 24-year-old Millie from Essex.
Bookies already seem to know what’s occurring, making the couple odds on to win this year’s series.
And, in a plot similar to Gavin and Stacey, Liam’s sister Niamh expects her brother to leave Merthyr Tydfil to join Millie, 200 miles away in Essex.
She said: “Good on him. Everyone is comparing their romance to Gavin and Stacey. I’d welcome her with open arms. She seems right up my street – proper chilled out and up for a laugh.”
WOBBLE
After a long-distance relationship Gavin and Stacey go on to get hitched and have kids – and Love Island fans expect Liam and Millie to do the same.
One posted: “They are clearly going to win the show and get married.”
The pair have confessed they are falling in love with each other and they were voted the best-looking and most genuine couple by the public on Friday.
And they have overcome their only major wobble, when Liam kissed Lillie Haynes, 22, in Casa Amor.
The lovebirds have already discussed the possibility of Liam moving to Essex and, unless anything drastic happens this final week, they seem destined to share the £50,000 winners’ cheque. Niamh added: “I’m really proud of him. For a 21-year-old boy who has only had one relationship, he handled it as well as anybody. He’s been really respectful towards Millie and has taken things at her pace.”
Niamh, who works in a hair salon, added: “Every single client is watching it, even the 80-year-olds coming in to have their
weekly blow dry.”
