Care home’s son ban rap

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

A CARE home has been ordered to apologise for banning a son from visiting his dementia-stricken mum after he raised fears about her welfare.

The unnamed man complained to Berry Hill Park Care Home after finding she had bruises, later found to be caused by another resident.

He was banned days later after he had a row with a relative at the home in Mansfield, Notts.

The Ombudsman found the home at fault. It ruled Nottinghamshire County Council must apologise and pay the man £650.

HC-One Ltd, which runs Berry Hill, said it regretted the 2018 incident “which in no way represents care provided at the home today”. It added no staff involved still work there.
