Chris: Show’s so big it opens doors

- BY AMANDA KILLELEA and GERALDINE MCKELVIE

LOVE Island star Chris Hughes says he had no idea how big the show was until he left the villa.

This series has been filled with drama – most recently with Liberty Poole expressing fears that Jake Cornish is exploiting their relationship for the cameras. But

Chris, 28, who dated islander Olivia Attwood, 30, after the third series, said such things were not a concern when he entered Casa Amor in 2017.

The show draws over two million viewers and helped him forge a career as a horse racing presenter.

He also did TV shows with fellow islander Kem Cetinay.

But Chris said: “When we were in the villa we didn’t know how big the show was. Coming out, it was massive. Because it is so big, they know you can get deals. It must naturally play on their minds.

“With our series that was never a thing, it was all about feelings.” ■■Chris has launched National Racehorse Week, which will run from September 12 to 19.
