A GIRL caught in the crossfire of a gang shooting when she was five has scored nine top-grade GCSEs.

Thusha Kamaleswaran became Britain’s youngest gun crime victim 10 years ago, hit by a bullet as she danced around in her uncle’s South London shop.

But despite ongoing medical issues from her injuries, 16-year-old Thusha got all sevens, eights and nines – equivalent to As and A*s.

She now plans to do A-levels in biology, maths and chemistry at Seven Kings School in Ilford, Essex.

Thusha, who almost died twice as medics treated her, said: “I was given the gift of life. I’ve worked hard in my exams so I can become a doctor and help people like I was helped. I’m so thrilled.”

CCTV of the little girl being shot in the chest as she innocently danced in a shop aisle shocked the nation.

The gang members behind the shooting were jailed for life in 2012.

Thusha, who was left paralysed after the bullet shattered her spine, achieved her success despite missing school for intensive rehabilitation at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Delighted dad Sasi and mum Sharmila said: “We’re so proud of her for getting such brilliant results. After everything she’s been through it’s really amazing.”

After all she’s been through, it’s really amazing PROUD PARENTS SASI & SHAMILA ON RESULTS
