Boy, 17, dead in reservoir

THE body of a 17-year-old swimmer has been pulled from a reservoir.

Police cordoned off Elton Reservoir, Bury, Gtr Manchester, on Friday.

On Facebook, they confirmed they had recovered a body from the water.

They wrote: “Formal identification has yet to take place, but the body is believed to be that of a 17-year-old boy, and his family has been informed.

“There aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
