NATTERJACK TOADS

-

It’s Britain’s loudest amphibian – but destruction of its habitat means their sound is now sadly rare.

They love to breed in warm water, such as shallow pools in sand dunes, increasingly destroyed for housing and commercial infrastructure.

HELP THEM: Dig a wildlife pond in your garden. Stick to paths on country walks.

SEE THEM: Head to the

Wildlife Trust’s Red Rocks

Marsh on the Wirral, where breeding pools have been created for them.
