BEES HERO STAYING GAARDED

- BY HARRY PRATT

BRENTFORD hero Christian Norgaard has urged a note of caution amid the wild euphoria that has greeted the Bees’ triumph over Arsenal.

While punters and pundits alike saluted the club’s firstever Premier League win at a rocking Brentford Community Stadium, Norgaard insisted Thomas Frank’s men must not get carried away.

Ex-Brondby and Fiorentina midfielder Norgaard said: “It’s about not looking too much into it as players. We just need to keep all the outside noise away from the group.

“You can easily get ahead of yourself if you listen too much to all the analysts talking about one game.

“We need to be calm and relaxed, as that is what got us here in the first place.

“We have a lot to be happy about and can have some fun now. But then we must start to think about our next game – against Crystal Palace.

“What a start it is – but it’s only a small step and achievement in the whole season. We still have another 37 games to go.”

Norgaard’s 73rd-minute header sealed Friday’s derby destruction of out-of-sorts Arsenal, after Spanish ace Sergi Canos had opened the scoring for the newly-promoted hosts.

Next up for the buzzing Bees is a trip to Selhurst Park this Saturday, which is sure to be a very different proposition for the west Londoners.

But whatever the challenges posed by Patrick Vieira’s Eagles, Norgaard reckons Brentford’s high-press tactics will not change.

The 27-year-old Dane added: “Our approach will pretty much be the same, although Palace play a different way to Arsenal.

“It will be difficult and a lot more hostile than playing at home – that will take some getting used to.

“But if we take the same mentality and approach to Palace then we can create another good result.”
