JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK hailed goalkeeper Ben Garratt and midfielder Lucas Akins for their spot-kick heroics against Ipswich.

Akins netted a late penalty winner after Joe Powell’s opener had been cancelled out by a Tom O’Connor own-goal and Ipswich midfielder Scott Fraser had seen his second-half spot-kick saved by Garratt.

Garratt had failed to save any penalties in the midweek Carabao Cup shoot-out defeat to Oxford, where Akins also missed from the spot, and Hasselbaink said: “It is big courage from Ben to stay calm and also for Lucas to take the ball and go again, because it’s not easy, and to put it in the net.”

Ipswich boss Paul Cook said: “We should have left with something. You can’t keep making individual mistakes like we are.”
