Lethal Haaland is off to a flyer..

Borussia Dortmund 5 Eintracht Frankfurt 2

ERLING HAALAND began the new Bundesliga season in breathtaking form after firing

Borussia Dortmund to a thumping win over

Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Norway striker scored twice and set up another two goals, as the hosts put down a marker in their opener.

Haaland now has a staggering 62 goals in 61 Dortmund appearances in all competitions to underline why he is in such demand.

It was captain Marco Reus who put Marco Rose’s team in the driving seat in the 23rd minute, scoring from a Haaland assist for his 100th league goal for the club.

A Felix Passlack own-goal four minutes later did nothing to slow them down, as Thorgan Hazard rifled Dortmund back into the lead after Reus combined with Haaland.

The hosts completed their first-half goal rush with Haaland – who scored a hat-trick in their German Cup firstround win last week – pouncing on a Stefan Ilsanker mistake to charge into the box and slot in.

They could have had an even more handsome margin had

Reus’s goal on the stroke of halftime not been ruled out by VAR.

Gio Reyna added a fourth with a tap-in on the hour with Eintracht at the complete mercy of the bursting Dortmund runs that kept on coming.

Another Haaland run earned him his second goal of the evening following a VAR review.

Jens Petter Hauge scored late on his Bundesliga debut but it was scant consolation for Eintracht.
