Hols in Spain easing Brits’ Covid pain
COVID-WEARY Brits are heading back to the Costas in their droves in a lift for Spain’s tourism industry.
Bookings to the likes of Benidorm and the Canary Islands are close to prepandemic levels as Covid restrictions here are eased, say Spanish tourism chiefs.
Testing requirements for fully vaccinated holidaymakers returning to the UK could go this week.
But destination countries may still require testing. Tourism bosses have urged Spain to relax restrictions for tourists.
Currently, arrivals must show a vaccine certificate or prove they have recovered from the virus.
Costa Blanca tourism chief Francesc Colomer said: “Britons are anxious for a revenge against their forced confinement.”
