Post Office scandal cops grill 2 computer firm staff again
POLICE probing the scandal involving hundreds of Post Office staff wrongly convicted of crimes have re-interviewed two workers at computer giant Fujitsu.
The Post Office pursued more than 700 postmasters and postmistresses for theft and fraud based on information from Fujitsu’s faulty Horizon computer system.
Met police are probing the accuracy of evidence from two staff at the Japanese firm after a High Court judge referred the case to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The man and woman were spoken to under caution on suspicion of perjury. Dozens of postal workers were jailed between 1999 and 2015. Courts were not told of the system’s flaws, campaigners claim.
They allege the Post Office and Fujitsu covered it up.
The Met said: “No arrests have been made.”
