Good grief, he is a true star
I don’t often get starstruck, but if I ever met Ricky Gervais, I know I’d be that person, mouth wide open and staring like a weirdo.
I absolutely adore After Life, on Netflix, which he wrote, directed and stars in. We get to meet a bunch of very strange and wonderful characters through Tony (Ricky), a recent widower looking for reason to live.
It makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
Grief is not a popular or easy subject to tackle, but he does it beautifully through humour and sensitivity.
After Life shows the importance of creating happy memories with loved ones – while we
have the chance.
