It’s a dog’s After Life…
The dog who helps Ricky Gervais’ character through his grief in the hit TV series After Life is also helping people dealing with death in real life. Ten-year-old German Shepherd Antilly ‘The Wonder Hound’ plays Brandy in Gervais’ black comedy about a local newspaper reporter who struggles to deal with his wife’s death from cancer.
But away from the cameras, Antilly helps to raise much-needed funds for the Florence Nightingale Hospice in Stoke Mandeville, Bucks.
Antilly’s owner, Beth Heale, 35, works for the charity, while her partner Ashley Foster, 34, is the pooch’s full-time trainer.
A framed print of Antilly taken by top photographer Hamish Brown was auctioned off yesterday, raising £260 for the hospice.
Make your own donation to the charity by purchasing a Nightingale’s Rainbow tile, which will appear on a monument to NHS Covid workers at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. See fnhospice.org.uk ■■Series 3 of After Life is available on Netflix now
