CLAUDIO RANIERI has said he will now only pick players who show fight and believe with “passion and heart” after Watford slipped into the Premier League bottom three following Friday’s 3-0 home defeat to Norwich.
It was the Hornets’ eighth defeat in their last nine league and cup games as the pressure on Italian boss Ranieri was cranked up even further.
But the 70-year-old is ready to shake things up as he looks for a winning formula, with a crunch clash against relegation rivals Burnley next up.
He said: “We have to change, we have to change mentality, we can’t carry on in this way.
“Now I must select only the players that want to fight and now is the time to change the mentality.
“I want players who want to fight in every match and believe with passion and heart.”
And Ranieri added: “I believe in the players who want to believe in our way.
“If players don’t want to understand my philosophy, then they can go home.”
