Lib Dems call for action on crippling bills
BORIS Johnson is being urged to hold a ‘Cost of Living summit’ with the main utility companies in a bid to stop bills rising.
Lib Dem leader Ed Davey says the PM must stop trying to save his own skin – and help struggling families instead.
He said: “It’s shameful. He held law-breaking parties in Downing Street, but won’t haul in energy firm bosses.”
Mr Davey says billpayers should also attend the summit to spell out the difficulties they face.
Energy bills are set to go up 50% in April – an estimated £600 per household.
A No10 spokesman said: “The Prime Minister has been clear that our priority is to protect consumers from facing higher bills.”
