More families cut out meat
ALMOST eight in 10 households with children aim to eat less meat this year, research says.
And one in 10 youngsters has insisted their family cuts it out altogether, a study for the Linda McCartney vegetarian food brand shows.
Children’s three main reasons to go veggie were for health, animal welfare and a more varied diet.
The poll of 1,500 adults also showed parents who reduced meat last year saved an average £21 on their weekly shop.
Rebecca Fairbairn, of Linda McCartney’s, said: “This shows there is enormous appetite for more meat-free meals.”
