Stay sane and save the seas

-

I live by a canal and in lockdown it kept me sane – walking the dog along it, running, watching the wildlife.

So now I’m helping the Canal & River Trust charity to raise awareness that most of our contribution to the global plastics problem starts in canals and rivers.

The Trust estimates that if everyone who visited their local canal picked up just one item of litter, we’d clear around 14 million pieces of rubbish a year before they reached the seas.

So please visit their website to support their Plastics Challenge campaign. At half-term they will be giving away little litter pickers (thanks to the

People’s Postcode Lottery) to families who join in. Over half the population live about three miles from one of our waterways, so

do your bit.
