Boris sets a bad example

Watching the news this week, I found myself singing ”liar liar, pants on fire” at Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

My 10-year-old, Amara, asked about the playground song and said, “Is it because he lied about what he did in lockdown?”

At that moment I thought about what kind of message she’s getting from all this. I’m always telling my kids to tell the truth, however much trouble they think they’re going to be in.

And here was the leader of the country telling what appears to be a series of fibs about what he did behind the doors of No 10.

It won’t be long before my kids turn around and say: “Well if he can lie, so can we.”

So just go Boris – if for no other reason than to show our kids that if you lie, there are consequences.
