BIELSA A STAR ACT

EXCLUSIVE BY ROSS HEPPENSTALL JONATHAN WOODGATE has hailed Marcelo Bielsa for transforming Leeds stars Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford – but admits he cannot predict how long the Argentine will remain as manager.

Former Whites star Woodgate, 42, has followed his old club’s progress since Bielsa (right) arrived in June 2018.

He said: “It’s a sign of a top coach when you improve players.

“Kalvin’s worth at least £50million now and is an England regular.

“These were players who weren’t going anywhere in the Championship – but Bielsa has transformed them.”

Whether or not Bielsa extends his time at Leeds remains to be seen.

And Woodgate added: “I can’t read Marcelo Bielsa – you just don’t know what he’s going to do.”
