Toon fans in safety summit
NEWCASTLE UNITED fans this week met with Leeds United officials and West Yorkshire Police to share their concerns over crowd safety at
Elland Road.
Several Magpies supporters reported a dangerous crush developing as they attempted to enter the ground ahead of last weekend’s meeting between the clubs.
Travelling fans were eventually allowed to enter the stadium through an access gate in order to alleviate overcrowding around the turnstiles.
Leeds last week vowed to review issues raised by the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust following complaints from around 100 fans to “ensure we continue to provide a safe environment for everyone attending our stadium”.
