Warne fumes at fans

-

Crewe 0 Rotherham 2

PAUL WARNE condemned an “embarrassing” and “completely unacceptable” missile-throwing incident that marred Rotherham’s win.

Michael Smith (below) scored twice for the Millers, before Crewe had Scott Robertson sent off in a second half. There was a lengthy delay when a linesman was hit by a coin, which appeared to have been thrown from the away fans section at Gresty Road.

Warne said: “It’s embarrassing and it is completely unacceptable.

“If it was one of our fans and it has been seen by CCTV then the culprit should be punished.”

Crewe boss David Artell said: “We gave the leaders two goals and our game management wasn’t good enough.

“We’ve got to do much better. Every game is important and we’ve got to go to Gillingham and win.”
