Barcelona? Would you Adama and Eve it? Yes!

-

THERE are suggestions one of the reasons Adama Traore preferred a move to Barcelona rather than Spurs was that Antonio Conte would have wanted him to play as a wing-back.

No wonder he plumped for the Nou Camp. Far be it from anyone to doubt the wisdom of Conte, but while it still seems unclear exactly what is the best role for Traore, it surely isn’t at wing-back.

TOMORROW’S transfer deadline is a big one for Jack Wilshere, the former Arsenal midfielder having intimated his playing days could be officially over if he is not fixed up with a club by the end of January.

And there is no sign of that happening. Hopefully, something will come up or Wilshere (above) might persevere for a bit longer – after all, he is a free agent and can sign for someone when he wants.

And let’s hope he does because, in his early days, Wilshere was a Phil Foden prototype. He was that good.

GIANNI INFANTINO reckons his remarks about giving “hope to Africans so they don’t need to cross the Mediterranean in order to find, maybe, a better life, but more probably death in the sea” have been “misinterpreted”.

Even though they were made in a speech about FIFA’s plans to hold a biennial World Cup, Infantino (below) now denies he intended a connection between the two.

Whatever he did or did not intend, one thing is for sure.

There is nothing quite like the presidency of FIFA to

send power to a head.
