999 rescuer aids own son

-

A MOUNTAIN rescue volunteer called out after a mountain bike crash found the victim was his son.

The rider, 42, was knocked out in the accident as his cycling group rode downhill at Whinlatter in the Lake District.

His pals dialled 999 and a member of Keswick Mountain Rescue, realising the casualty was likely to be his son, raced there. The victim recovered. His dad said: “You never stop worrying about your kids, even when they’re 42.”
