The Royal Ballet’s beautifully staged take on Shakespeare’s epic of love, loss and redemption is elevated to something special by the electrifying Ed Watson as King Leontes, his descent into jealous madness embodied in every tortured line.

Sarah Lamb as his daughter Perdita and Steven McRae as her beau Polixenes are pure joy together. What a treat.
