Carver in Saudi link

NEWCASTLE’S takeover could boost former Toon boss John Carver’s chances of a manager’s role in Saudi Arabia.

It is understood at least three Saudi sides are interested in Carver, 57, because of his Newcastle connection.

The Geordie, currently assistant to Scotland boss Steve Clarke, was in charge of Newcastle for the second half of the 2014-2015 season after Alan Pardew quit to take over at Crystal Palace.

Carver also managed Toronto FC and Cypriot side Omonia.
