GOTTA GO LOWE

- NEIL MOXLEY

MAX LOWE reckons advice from England star James Maddison helped him ‘man up’.

Nottingham Forest’s defender (left) was struggling to make a breakthrough and was offered the chance to go on loan at Aberdeen – following in Maddison’s own footsteps. And a message from the Foxes man helped steady his nerve. Lowe (left) said: “James then contacted me personally and said, ‘Good luck, it’s a great club’. And he was right, it is.

“That gave me confidence to go on and do it – and that’s vital for any young player who is not getting game-time. It’s ruthless in Scotland. I’d almost say it turned me into a man.”
