JEWELS IN THE CROWN

-

THE crowns worn by the Queen during her Coronation are steeped in history.

She wore The Diadem during her procession to the Abbey, originally made for King George IV, and adorned with a total 320-carats of diamonds.

St Edward’s Crown is used only for the Coronation itself. It is made in 22-carat gold set with 444 aquamarine rubies, topazes and sapphires, to name but a few.

The final crown is the Imperial State Crown, with more than 3,000 precious gemstones.
