Drinkers are hurt as bar’s roof caves in
DRINKERS were trapped when a busy bar’s upstairs floor collapsed yesterday.
Firefighters rescued seven people from Two More Years in Hackney Wick, east London.
Some people were treated at the scene and others went to hospital after the drama at 4.50pm.
One punter said: “There was just this sort of cracking sort of noise and dust started coming down.
“Me and my friend just ran to the side and the whole thing just came down in seconds.”
Fire brigade commander Sacha Clement said: “They were trapped on the remaining part of the mezzanine floor and crews used a ladder to bridge between the floor and the internal staircase to get them safely out.”
