Simz ma: My girl is a star
LITTLE Simz’s mum always knew her daughter was set to become famous, she claims.
Tola Ajikawo joined her rapper daughter on stage at the BRITs to collect the gong for Best New Artist.
The proud mum and grandmother, 68, told the Sunday Mirror: “It was such a joy to hear her name called.
“From when she was around 10 or 11, I knew she was going to be famous.
“She would say ‘When I am older I am going to be in America a lot. You watch me’. She had a vision for herself.
“My only hope for the future is that she keeps on doing what she is doing.”
The pair, below, went to the BRITs after parties, where Simz, 27, introduced Tola to Adele, Idris Elba and Mo Farah.
Tola, of Islington, North London, added: “People have called from Nigeria to the USA, saying ‘We saw you on TV!’ ”
