WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT... recovering from Covid-19

-

If you’ve had a mild bout of the virus, there are simple steps you can take to recover quickly.

“It’s important to drink plenty of fluid when your body is fighting an infection, especially if you’ve had a fever as this could lead to sweating,” says Boots Chief Pharmacist, Marc Donovan. “It is best to drink water, but you can also drink squash mixed with water, herbal teas, or tea with honey if you have a sore throat.”

Be sure to eat a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to replace lost vitamins and minerals.

“You may want to consider taking a multivitamin supplement too,” says Marc. “You can help to relieve any mild fever and general body aches and pains by taking ibuprofen or paracetamol, if suitable for you.”

Getting plenty of rest will also help you recover as quickly as possible.

If you have any concerns, call NHS 111.
