Conte rocket

LUCAS MOURA admits that furious boss Antonio Conte gave them all a rocket up the backside after last week’s defeat by Southampton.

Spurs led the game twice, but chucked their advantage away both times before succumbing to Che Adams’ winner, which came just two minutes after Mohamed Elyounoussi had scored the Saints’ second late on.

Conte, unsurprisingly, hit the roof and, according to Moura, left his players in no doubt that they must not make the mistakes they made in what was only their second Premier League defeat since the Italian arrived at the start of November in their clash with Wolves today.

Moura (below) said: “He was very, very angry. Very, very disappointed. And we can understand because we made mistakes that we cannot make.

“We work almost every day in training and it is the small details that make the difference.

“So he got very angry with this, very upset, because he repeats what he wants almost every day and, even so, we made the same mistakes.

“Ninety minutes and the one second you lose your attention, we can concede a goal, we can concede an opportunity for the opponents.

“It is difficult.

“But he was very angry with some details and situations that we created.

“We agree, we are sad because he knows the way to win a competition and to succeed.

“We want to impress him and do what he wants.”

Conte’s fiery reputation precedes him, but it is that character which has made him a serial winner as a player and manager.

Moura added: “He is very passionate for the game.

“The smallest detail he sees and wants us to be almost perfect.

“That is good because we can improve and have already improved a lot with him.

“We need to take advantage of having a manager like him.”
