DANNY COWLEY’S halftime team talk paid off as Portsmouth swept away Doncaster.

Reeco Hackett, George Hirst, debutant Aiden O’Brien and Sean Raggett all scored in a rampant second-half display. Cowley said: “The message at halftime was just free the players up a bit, to be a little bit braver, more courageous on the ball.

“You have to really commit to playing that way and I felt we did that. I thought it was a really good second-half performance.”

Gary McSheffrey said: “I couldn’t see a 4-0 coming after the first half.”
