Dunny’s Hairdryer

-

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS enjoyed another moment in the sun, but their near-miss against West Ham United last weekend will not even be a footnote in the history of the FA Cup.

Which should leave a bitter taste. Because while they did not raise a murmur of complaint, while they enjoyed the richly earned praise from their Premier League opponents,

Kidderminster were ROBBED of a place in the fifth round.

Robbed by the FA and the ridiculous regulation that allows a team to use five substitutes in a tie, six if it goes to extra-time.

How can it be right that a mighty Premier League manager can change – as David Moyes did – HALF his team during a match?

Ah, but the five-sub rule is for player welfare in these times of Covid.

What a load of tosh.

Did Moyes send on five new players during the second half of last Saturday’s game because he wanted to look after his squad’s welfare?

Of course, he did not.

Exploiting a farcical rule, he sent them on because the XI he started with played appallingly.

Talk about the romance of the Cup.
